Hello Red Phoenix blogaholics! Quick news for you, I have a book that's being published and will be out soon. I pulled my credit, now what? I'm excited about it and will have more information about it soon! Onto the blog!
I talk to people all day every day, what makes me nervous is the lackadaisical approach people have when it comes to their credit. If your credit is rock solid or "challenged" you need to be checking it at least once a year if not twice a year. Here is what happens all the time, you think your credit is flawless until it gets pulled and you find that one or two things. Things from years past that you paid and shouldn't be on there. Or something happens to be on there and you have no idea what it is. Maybe your credit is challenged you figure why bother?!?! Everyone pay attention and bother with it, check it and pay attention to it. This world more than ever you need credit, decent credit! Employers are pulling your credit, insurance checks your credit, even Dish Network pulls your credit. Believe me, I see it everyday and I get a lot of calls after the fact from people wondering what, why and how this crap is on there. 79% of credit reports contain an error, 25% contain a serious enough error to deny lending. Old collections and charge offs do not go away because you paid them. Often times they don't even get zeroed out and they will remain on your credit for SEVEN YEARS! It can be fixed and things can be done, but not if you ignore them and don't take action.
I'm not talking one bureau either friends, I'm talking all three! Trans Union, Experian and Equafax, reporting to the bureaus is something creditors, collection companies and every other institution volunteers to do. What that means is not everyone reports to all three bureaus, it could be just one of them or two of them. If you don't pull the right one, how would you know for sure? You don't, you need to check all three and cough up the $20 bucks to do so. Don't be super concerned with the score but the information that is contained in the report. Hence the book I'm writing, it will break down how to read your credit report and understand it. Check your credit, go beyond the numbers! If you're having trouble with it or can't figure it out I will help you. I'm always around....
